October
Who loves the world of cinema can not give up to attend the International Film Festival which takes place between New Auditorium, Parco della Musica, designed by Renzo Piano and the newly formed Casa del Cinema, set in the gardens of Villa Borghese. In these locations are projected to preview films that are in competition as well as those that are not in competition, with special attention to the young Italian cinema. The exhibition that takes place in the last days of October is accompanied by a carousel of events, meetings, reading, screenings, exhibitions and concerts.
December
Rome at Christmas is full of lights, shops and streets and festively decorated, and small markets where you can have fun searching for unique gifts. We recommend entertaining yourselves between the stalls in Navona square or admiring the great and sparkling Christmas tree at Piazza S. Peter.
In December, among the events that can’t be missed, there is a "Romaeuropa festival”, an event dedicated to a young audience, which promotes dialogue as a necessary means to achieve peace in the world. The RomaEuropa is one of the largest events dedicated to the theater and dance.
April-May
A city like Rome, a script for major film authors and the central piece of many unforgettable songs, could not refuse the photo events, such as FotoGrafia, International Festival of Rome that takes place every year in April and May. This Festival hosts annually, internationally renowned artists and involves not only the major museums and galleries in Rome, libraries and theaters, but also the stations, bars and clubs. In addition, the exhibitions are arranged in innovative spaces and in reserved places, even the Temple of Adriano becomes a space dedicated to the Festival.
In matters of great concerts do not forget that on May 1st is the mega concert in Piazza San Giovanni in the honor of the feast of workers that involves thousands of young people. On this stage the most important bands perform until late in the evening.
Literature lovers will delight themselves at the Festival of Literature scheduled between May and June in the Basilica of Massenzio, in the splendid panorama of the Roman Forum.
The Eternal City is certainly not lacking sport events either: the Marathon of Rome is a significant event. The Equestrian Competition held in May in Piazza di Siena and the Italian Open, an international tennis program held at Foro Italico in the first ten days of May, are also 2 very engaging events that draw a large number of people.
June-September
The Roman Summer is the program that animates the capital from June to September and includes outdoor performances, exhibitions, films, concerts, dance, art and theater. A rich range of events give life to the squares that are transformed in comfortable living rooms where you can chat all night.
